Heidi & Finn Urban Unisex Hoodie

We had such a fun family weekend I had to take a day to recover. both from the weekend and this silly virus circling our family. Back on the horse today and so excited to share what was on my sewing table this weekend.

I came across Heidi & Finn sewing patterns a few months ago. I love the modern, modest and stylish Euro flare their patterns have and as a mom of 2 boys (no girls yet!) it’s always hard to find cute patterns once you have the traditional shirt and pants. I nabbed the Heidi & Finn Urban Unisex Hoodie during one of their sales and have been on the look out for cute fabric. Since Fall has been sticking her nose in our weather lately I decided this was the weekend to sew one up for each of the boys.

I got a navy sweatshirt fleece and used clearance tshirts from Old Navy as the lining. Buttons were from JoAnns on clearance as well so total it only cost me about $8 to make BOTH of these adorable hoodies. That is thrifty sewing!

The fit was fantastic. My boys are on the skinny/tall side but they fit them perfect!

I used a narrow hem on the sleeve cuffs instead of creating a cuff. It looked more laid back to me in that finish.

Finished them just in time for a family picnic we went to on Saturday afternoon!

Liam got to ride a horse for the first time as well as eat his first s’more he affectionately calls “marshmellow burgers” now.

I already have plans for making this Urban Unisex Hoodie again soon before the fall/winter season is over!
